No. Just, no.

Kids need exercise equipment now?

Playgrounds are soooooo last year.

And yes, not everyone has access to a good playground/park, but this stuff is expensive so I can’t help but suspect most of the parents who would buy it are the ones whose children are more likely to have access to outdoor and indoor playgrounds and parks.

I’ve seen that exercise bike advertised, but they aren’t pushing it as exercise for fat kids. They’re pushing it as an educational toy to teach letters/numbers/reading/math skills. That surprised me, that the ads I’ve seen hadn’t been touting the exercise part of it, what with all the hysteria about the “childhood obesity epidemic”. I’ve read reviews from parents who bought it, and they all seem to think it’s wonderful and their kids like it, but I’m wondering how many parents panned it and their reviews didn’t get published.

Guh. Like we don’t teach kids to hate exercise enough in PE class already.

Maybe what we really need is some way to turn off adult dignity so I could get exercise like I did when I was a kid, pretending the big wooden pyramid was a space fortress or something.

Or holodecks a la Star Trek. That would be good.
